Beneath the Moon has been out in the world now for about six weeks. If you don’t know yet, Beneath the Moon is my newest song that I released this past December. It’s been a song that has be very special to me because of what it sings about – the simplicity of living and being connected to that inner world. Something I know well. I wanted to write this song because I know there are so many people out there who feel like they don’t have permission to connect with themselves. But I just want to say you DO have permission.
Most of the time, I write a song well before I really know what it’s about. I know that sounds weird but while I’m in the process of writing a song, I don’t take time to analyze what it’s about because I’m so in the moment creatively. I don’t want to take the time to analyze a song. I do that later if I want to.
Now that it’s been a few weeks since its release, I’ve been thinking about Beneath the Moon and why this song means so much to me to have written it. When I think of this song, I can see that it calls for us to dance, to breathe, to take time for ourselves and allow us to meet ourselves as a friend and be at ease with who we really are. To allow ourselves to enjoy those moments in full. I think that’s why we are really here – to enjoy moments either or with ourselves or with each other. It takes me back to when I was a kid and remembering how I felt so at home with myself and how so good that felt. I loved being by myself, indulging in my imagination and creating adventures for myself. I still do. It reminds me that I can always make these choices and not be so hard on myself. It’s simple really. Or it can be simple if we want it to be.
So how does this song make you feel? I’m curious and I would love to hear from you. Let me know in the comments below.
Until then I send you much love,
Pam
